Well...I am actually away to Nigeria with the family from thursday 19th June.

I leave for London tomorrow to spend a couple of days with my brother and sister as its just us 3 left to go over there. My parents and two of my sisters are already there.

So just giving you guys a heads up that I wont be around for that time (I am not back until 5th July) so dont all miss me too much (stop cheering at the back!).

I will try and see if there is some form of internet connection over there otherwise I will be lost to the world.

Phoenix, quick question, do planes now allow the use of laptops and do they have wi-fi? :biggrin

Have a good time mate :)

You may want to check with the airline themselves, it looks like some airlines ban them all together, while some only ban certain batteries, see here.

YaaaaaY!!!! Peace and quiet for a few weeks!!

Nope seriously mate have fun, take a rest and make the best of it.

As for laptops on planes, every flight i've been on recently will not allow you to use anything that has WiFi. Most still do not allow a laptop to be turned on unless they have a flight mode (like my mobile).

See ya when ya get back!

    Wow, interesting posts

can't say I have EVER even had anyone ask me about my laptop, and I use one on every flight

they are allowed by most legacy airlines (longhaul, non budget) but they are not allowed during take off or landing, and I don't do much flying other than that, just try get it out on the plane and see what they say

WiFi will need to be disabled, do it before you get in the plane rather than try and do it once you take off
Power is usually limited to a handful of economy seats and all seats above, you are very unlikely to get power in an economy seat, and you often need a special adapter

There is no wifi or internet access on 98% of flights at the moment, so forget that lol

Noleg, forget the laptop and takes lots of pictures so I can practice on them in photoshop. Hmmm, you better take the laptop so you have a place to load them. :D

Have a great time Noleg. It sounds like it will be fun with the whole family going. And you know we will miss you, and just to show you how much we care.
