And in XP and Server 2003 you can issue commands at the command prompt..

SHUTDOWN /R (the R switch is for re-boot) will have the desired effect during an RDP session.

More on the shutdown command here..

Most have been taken up by now... but heres one that took me a while to work out!

    Alt Gr + $ = € (euro...)

Also those akward letters too... Alt Gr + a,e,i,o,u = áéíóú

One for the forum too just discovered... Alt Gr + B inserts the bold tags! [ /B]

    Great topic!

People are going to think im a wizz at work now with these shortcuts!

two more highly basic ones, but they weren't mentioned thus far so. alt + f4 to close a program and cntrl + f4 to close a tab in firefox / ie7 / opera.

nice handy list of shortcuts, especially for those of us who hardly use the mouse and stick with short cut keys.

I've needed that from time to time... and that process is elegantly simple. Rep given!

Another Vista tip. If you want to move your user data onto another drive, follow the instructions Here

Its the same process you used to move the mydocs folder in xp. Bit of a pain in the arse that you cant do it for the whole user folder at once, and a shame you cant set vista to do it for all new accounts too, but never mind.

Holding down shift whilst starting Adobe Reader prevents any plug-ins from loading (we had a big problem with a diagnostic utility our voice engineers use crashing, or preventing any version of Adobe reader from starting)

Also you can easily add the option to open any folder within the command prompt with this small hack shown HERE

In vista if you are wanting to navigate up in explorer press Alt and the cursor up arrow. Don't know why they removed it from the explorer bar.
