    Hello,

I don't really work with Dell servers, mostly HP and I was wondering what would you guys use for the Array configuration? HP has their own stuff when you run the pre-config software before installing the OS. I did the same with Dell, but the software never got installed.

I think it's called Dell OpenManage. Is this the same thing that never got installed?

Whilst the Dell server is rebooting in the Dos screen POST process, press Ctrl+M as this would take you to the Array config setup screen, then select "Configure".

You need to pre-build the server with OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator). That's the Dell equivalent of SmartStart for HP kit.

If you didn't do the pre-build, you can install the ACU from OMSA afterwards - you just need to get the media/iso from Dell.

I did the pre-build, however I did not use the OpenManage server Administrator to create the array. I've manually created Raid 0 and Raid 5 configurations on the Raid configuration utility... maybe that's where I went wrong.

It's what I did bro, only for me it was Ctrl+R to access the raid config

Okay, thanks for the heads up, well Dell servers are not the most user friendly in terms of RAID setups.

Well just make sure when you do download the "openmange server administrator" its the version that supports your server model etc.

Sorry, but Dell servers are easy for RAID setups. :biggrin

As said install the Dell Openmanage software (make sure you select the RAID\Storage option) and from in there configure the RAID.

Thanks for info guys, I got it all sorted out with the OpenMange software like you mentioned. In fact I am almost done my XenApp 6 server install.... down to 2 applications and I've gained an extra Citrix server...
