dell inspiron

    HI
    I HAVE A DELL INSPIRON 8600 LAPTOP. WHEN I TURN IT ON THE SCREEN TURNS WHITE. I TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT ON AGAIN ,AND AFTER ABOUT 5 ATTEMPTS SHE WILL TURN ON FINE. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON THANKS

    IT WONT DO ANYTHING UNTIL 4 OR 5 ATTEMPS JUST A WHITE SCREEN.CANT GET INTO SAFE MODE UNTIL IT STARTS UP . THE KEYBOARD SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. WHEN I APPLY PRESSURE ON BOTH SIDES BY THE TOUCHPAD IT SEEMS TO BOOT UP QUICKER.. HMMMMMMMM

    I have a similar model inspiron and after several years, the display started to go. It turned gradually pink and then red and then it failed all together. Diagnosing LCD display problems on a laptop is horribly expensive and sadly, I've had to retire the unit. Unless you are a laptop and display guru, you might want to bite the bullet and take it in to your most trusted computer repair shop for a proper diagnosis.

    The "caps lock" comment by Harry was his gentle way of telling you *not* to type in all caps. In Internet text communications, it's the equivalent of shouting and considered rude. You'll notice that everyone else here has the ability to use upper and lower case letters. Please do the same. Thanks.
