I am working on Dell Laptop Insipirion 1100, I reinstalled Windows XP and the left mouse button is working correctly, when I click using the left mouse it doent click but when I use a USB mouse the mouse works properly. Can I replace the left mouse key and is it difficult.

you could replace it, but the little micro switch on the pad that senses the button press could be knackerd better to get a new mouse.

Are you talking about the left mouse button on the laptop?

If so you might need a driver for it.

Yeh try installing the touchpad drivers. If already installed, try a re-install or check for updated drivers...

I Googled "laptop touchpad not working" (actually, Google autocomplete did most of the work) and came up with this:

If you find you need spares then I can recommend these guys - have used them for years in the trade for all my Dell parts etc.

The Professor is in Florida as I recall, so he'd probably need some US resources. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Technically, you are correct, but you pointed him to the search results after the search was done. Nugg showed him (through the power of LMGTFY!) how to actually go to Google and type the words in the box and then hit Google Search. Sometimes, you have to take people through the VERY beginning so they'll understand. ;)
