I know, I know, I should be in my css book. However I came across this and had to ask while it is still fresh in my head.

    This tutorial says:
    Found here of course.

So my question is, why are pictures not going in the gallery folder? I have always put my pics in a folder and will continue to do that weather it is a one page site or a couple of hundred. But the gallery folder and the Image folder have me confused.

I think there is no specific reason why they can not be in the same folder. I think they only split things up to make the structure more transparant. Think of a site with 1000 pictures.

Yep, no reason why they can't be in the gallery folder (so long as your paths reflect this), it's just a logical separation to keep images together and html gallery pages together. The larger the site, the more sense it makes to impose this level of order. Sometimes smallish sites turn into large sites, so it's a good idea to have an ordered structure from the start.

ok, thanks guys. It just seems like more clutter to me is all. I've never had to deal with that many photos though either.

The kiss ("keep it simple, stupid") principle is usually the best. In terms of your site structure, don't make it any more complicated than it has to be.

I may be a slob in real life. (I hate to do dishes) But I can not stand for folders or my code to be clutter up. And all those extra folders seem like clutter to me. I guess I will just have to get pass it.
