Hi all,

Its day 3 report time for me. I've taken on a new role as a virtualization support and delivery engineer (or technical consultant depending on which customer I'm talking to apparently). So far its been great fun, I've been doing citrix vdi-in-a-box training along with veeam and emc training, sansymphony-v, scale. next on the list will be vmware technical sales pro (whatever that is).

My job will be consulting with the sales guys and customers to design solutions on anything cloudy/virty based and also supporting customers who have support contracts. The guys at the company seem really nice and it seems quite a relaxed atmosphere so far and one of the first questions I was asked when I got there was "star wars or star trek" so I think I'm going to fit in nicely

Before now I've always been in-house support so I guess there'll be a huge learning curve for me but so far I'm loving every minute of it. I've got my first couple of proper jobs for a customer today nothing to exciting just one wanting a graceful shutdown of their vmware environment when a power failure occurs and some switch configuration work.

Sounds like fun! I went through the learning curve as well going from in house IT to Consulting.
