    Hi guys.

I'm presently in the middle of trying to memorize the best part of all the stats for the CPUs mentioned in Mikes 6th edition, which IMO is quite a task. Although its interesting and very useful to understand the microprocessors section of the book, is it necessary for the exams? Did all you guys go to these extremes to pass or am I trying to crack a nut with a sledge hammer? :blink

I havent done the exams yet myslef (they are different for everyone, apparently) but I doubt they are going to ask you what wattage a pentium 2 is and nm the amd althlon is made at. That would be crazy, but you will need to learn IRQ and addresses.

just memorise the features of a CPU (i.e sockets, cache, fsb etc) i dout they'll go into specifics such as core codenames (trust me theirs thousands)

I think you need to remember the CPU stats in detail if you are going to be taking the Depot Technician exam.
