If i was applying to companies to seek out oppertunities for an entry level IT Networking job. Bearing in mind i currently do not hold but intend to train for IT qualifications.

Do you think a formal letter asking for jobs would be best or a letter selling myself as a oppertunity for the company (come get me while i'm cheep kinda thing) would work better?

Get yourself a copy of "What Color is Your Parachute?" by Richard Nelson Bolles. After you've read that, you can't go wrong on the job hunt.
