compu probs

    hi i just messed up my pc i changed the settings now i cant login it asks for a password and a username and i didnt use to use a password to reach the first screen of windows please help cant continue with my ccna course am now using my dads laptop

    That often happens when you start doing networking on a machine that didn't have it before.

    Who installed the Win2K? Ask him what username/password was set.

    Need more info, John - what settings were changed ? Are you on a domain ? What flavour of Windows2000 are you on (poss irrelevant, but handy to know) ? Info is key.

    Is this thread a good argument for A+/ N+ before CCNA ?

    This seems to me like a good time to try the LKG (last known good) option in the troubleshooting start up options screen. Press F8 just after the POST.

    LKG only works if you haven't been able to log in, which is the case here.
