CompTIA VS the norm

    The point is you can
    your experience managing a windows network or a Linux network or any other network from an OS perspective, helps to prepare you for the alien subject matter of networking (lets be fair, using the internet for 10 years doesn't prepare you to manage a router so it is in all respects, alien subject matter)

    were not comparing the certs here,
    CCNA is the entry level Cisco cert YES (as Slypie and Mike agree)
    CCNA is NOT a cert for an entry level role

    I don't mean to muddy the water... but the CCNA isn't even Cisco's lowest-level cert... that would be the CCENT, officially available today.

    Well thats true, its a bit too recent even for me to have gotten used to though :P
