    Hi all,

    Alot of people have been asking when the next version of Security+ is going to be coming out, as there have been a few minor releases (eg 2007 revision, but it was based on the 2003 version.)

    Well it looks like the next major version of Security+ will be released sometime this year.

    surely any of the SME's would likely take the cert themselves, thus gaining the cert in question, and materially benefiting? no?

    Material benefit is monetary in nature. Gaining a certification gives someone an indirect benefit... whereas I could potentially gain a real, monetary benefit due to the nature of my employment.
