Apparently these guys told the IITT they had ceased trading, probably in an effort to stop me complaining

Well the websites being redeveloped and the IITT accreditation is still there (which I have been assured shouldnt be)

What to expect if you do business

*PDF Files with sections missing, to do notes and pages full of the REAL AUTHORS details
*Ancient videos, which play in a horrible player making it a PITA to view (also slow servers meaning videos took ages to load.
*Emails from there CEO saying he will personally bring up these complaints at the next board meeting, then obviously leaving the country
*Fraud (website lied about there companies house details, and also the fact these were affordable's trainers, when in reality they were nothing more than stock bought trash.

When you check out a company that does video based training if the following, or a similar address appears do a runner

    268 Selbourne Road
    Luton
    LU4 8LX
    GB

The company is called affordabletraining.co.uk, which is a lie in both parts, also now goes to this page softwarevideoclasses.com so another one to avoid.

In fact anyone associated with Sohail Khan,

In fact any page which has something like these.
    http://www.quickcert.com/why_instructors.cfm
    http://www.certifyittraining.com/Expert_Instructors.html
    http://www.sandline-training.co.uk/Products/VALUE-PACK-MCDBA.htm

    Avoid like the plague

    Hope this saves someone money.

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I signed up for a years access in view to passing MCSE within that year.
Currently I am at MCSA certified level however the credit I would give to MsPress rather than Livetrain for reaching that far as the material (for especially 70-291 exam) was far more comprehensive, and didnt have sections missing.

My access now has expired so I will be unable to finish my MCSE with Livetrain, so instead I will be using the MsPress materials and self teaching.

The UK IT training industry has lost a potential customer thanks to the outdated (or poorly update materials in the initial courses/videos i took with Livetrain), and I will make my voice heard on certforums.co.uk where I am a regular poster.

Obviously to get to the later material it would be benificial to make sure the earlier courses are complete and dont look like theyve been produced by copy and paste by aq bunch of amateurs.

Obviously these opinions will harm your other clients through loss of business, as more people are choosing self study, which in fairness has gotten me through MCSA, MCDST (I passed both exams monday in one day), and CCNA exams.

    Some responses to Livetrain

Claiming use of in-house instructors and materials when these seem to be based in the States and working for other organisations and materials generated by 3rd parties

We have never claimed that these instructors were our in-house trainers. Our sales script specifically say we work closely with our developers in Florida to produce our training courses.

Absolute rubbish, it didnt say that anywhere on the website, and also the sales person didnt mention this either, he did mention the "global mentoring" system, which was more than unhelpful the 2 times i tried it so i gave up.

The wayback website proves what it said on their website.

"but with one caveat - they have been uniquely combined to provide a brand new online training service. It is "

Now no one can prove this is true, lets check out this for example

    http://www.affordabletraining.co.uk/master-instructors.htm

List of people on there look very similar to these lists

    http://www.quickcert.com/why_instructors.cfm
    http://www.certifyittraining.com/Expert_Instructors.html
    http://www.sandline-training.co.uk/Products/VALUE-PACK-MCDBA.htm

All the descriptions are the same, all the pics are the same, I mean if these people really had done a "Unique training service" then surely it would have been easy to get a "unique" photo.

Use of old materials that would seem not entirely up-to-date

As Microsoft, Cisco or Comptia change their courses from time to time, there is a time lag suffered by all training companies in the UK to catch up with the current syllabus. We are not privy to inside information from Microsoft, Cisco or Comptia despite our develo

    Etc

Again, service pack 2 for Windows XP came out in late 2004, we are now in 2008, there was no mention of this and the changes it made, however this was in my MsPress book, so the exam questions which related to this were covered.

After paying a substantial amount of money to these people I am severely underwhelmed by their lack of service, there out of date videos, and there claims which are unsubstantiated, and when you look at it, with minimal effort you can find flaws in what they say.

Obviously id like a refund, but better yet, id like to stop other people being ripped off until they prove that these other websites are not selling the same videos and that the claims they are making are based in something close to truth.

In fact i will prove that these are not original videos, check out the two links here,

    on http://www.sandline-training.co.uk/Products/Win2003-MCSE-Core.htm#
go to the Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment section in the MCSE 2003 Server Training Bundle Courses section.

Click on the "try it now button", those videos music and style (and content) look more than familiar.

    http://208.77.51.210/webdemo/aff_290.htm?

This is from the demo section of the livetrain website, and this is 10 minutes of research, these are 2 different companies, with the same videos on their websites.

    Hope this helps
