Oh man! Ad-blocking software has been detected! :'(

I don't normally post links to other sites but this is quite funny about comments clients make to web designers.

One of my Favorites

"So, mr customer, I'm going to connect to your pc remotely to try and diagnose the problem" "Wow, you can do that?" "Why yes! Technology is great. It means I can see your screen, control your mouse and look through your computer from here" Silence, followed by 10 seconds of furious shuffling sounds. "Are you still there Mr.customer?" "Yup, just making some room on my desk so the mouse won't bump into anything". "Um..."

This is a cracker too

A client of mine, a small computer store in a mall surrounded by many other stores
received a letter advising them not to use laptops in their business, or they would
face legal action for attempted hacking. Sounding suspicious, they contacted me
with this letter and I took a look.

It came from the legal office two stores up, a legal office that it turned out had an
unsecure wireless network that people nearby had been using. Instead of getting
their own IT support fixing the problem, they send out letters to every other store
owner in the mall to stop them using laptops so nobody else could get into their
network!.

Lawyers. Legal threats first, common sense last!

Absolute beauty:

Client: "The website does not print out in color. Please fix the site."

We later found out he only had a black and white printer.

Client: "We want a website that can play DVD quality video, but we don't want to use streaming video and the load time must be zero."
Designer: "That's impossible. Everything has a load time. DVD quality runs about 100 megs a minute."
Client: "We'll take our business elsewhere..."

After pitching some design mock-ups of a web page to a client (no ca$h had been exchanged yet)... Client: I want you to use my niece to do the backend portion of the site. Me: I'm sorry but have a programmer I work with exclusively. The quote I had originally provided included his time and cost as well... Client: I'll take my business elsewhere. [An hour later I recieved a phone call] Client: I need the source files for the web site. Me: The source files will include the design costs i specified in my original estimate. Client: We're not working together anymore so can you just give me the files.
