I have no experience in web design and was wondering what certification would be the better one to start of with? All these different certifications can be a bit confusing. :blink Especially as a newbie in the IT field.

The best thing is a portfolio of your work. Most places aren't so interested in certs compared to that!

    What they both said!!

You should forget the CIW certs, they ain't worth much. What you should do is find a decent book that teaches (x)html and CSS which you can find on Amazon.com, and then once you have learn't the basics then start learning software applications such as photoshop, flash and Illustrator. You can find good training through sites such as:

    www.lynda.com
    www.learnflash.com
    www.totaltraining.com
    www.kelbytraining.com

I can help you out if you get stuck.
