    Hi Welcome:)

Not sure on timescales but most people would say that you should get yourself some books, teach yourself and build a portfolio as employers would rather see a portfolio of designs rather than a cert that doesn't really mean much.

    Certifications: A+, N+, MCDST, Security+, 70-270
    WIP: 70-620 or 70-680?

thanks for the advice as I am only starting out could anyone recommend any books for me to start learning web design. The portfolio is a great bit of help as i guess an employer would prefer to se what you can do rather than a bit of paper that says you have passed and may be able to do it .

As long as it takes. Everyone's different, with different experiences, different abilities, and different responsibilities. I might have 30 minutes a week to study whereas someone else might be able to study 12 hours a day. I might have no experience with Web design whereas someone else might have years of experience. Nobody can say how long you should take to study. Study until you understand the concepts completely - that's the best advice I can give.
