    Hello everybody.

Maybe BosonMichael is right when he says that one must keep on doing it or it will go away, damn.

Anyways, I have a cisco modular 1721 router and have got a 4 port switch on it by the way of a wic card.

I have my internet connection working on the router's F0 which is fixed but when I try to access the internet or the network on the other ports I only get communication if ports are part of a vlan.

Anyway to have them working just as a switch without any vlans?

Yes, I am still googling away but nothing so far.

    Any help dually appreciated.

    Cheers everybody.

    Hello everybody.

I have got it now. It's slowly coming back to me.

I have set a vlan and added all ports to this vlan and instead of giving the routers fixed interface an IP address; I have asigned it to the vlan interface.

Now, I have a connection to my service provider however, I am not surfing the internet unless I specify on my NIC card settings the DNS from my isp. That done and I am up and surfing.

Now question, as it has connected to the isp should the DNS be there automatically?

    Any help well appreciated.
