    Hey everyone, hows tricks

I have a question about Chromebooks

Can these be used in an offline capacity and do you need a gmail account to be able to use the apps at all ???

And out of 10 how would you rate them

You need a gmail account to get the most out of it you need to be online some features work offline.

Out of 10 for the price would give it 6.5.

I haven't ever had or used a chrome book, but I do have to admit that I like them, and am considering getting one to use as my home computer.
You do need to have a Google account to use them, but since I use Google Apps all of the time and the majority of my time 'using' a computer at home is spent on the Internet they seem to offer great value for money.

As regarding having to be online all of the time you can use parts of them offline such as Google Doc's which will then sync back to the cloud when you go back online. This works in much the same way as the Google Drive for Windows works.

For everyday use such as simple documents, and web surfing they offer great value for money. For anything that seriously needs to be done 'offline' then not so good.

The biggest thing that is stopping me from committing to one at the moment is the Technet Virtual Labs won't run on them.
