I wasn't sure where best to post this, so I opted for the Microsoft General forum.

Mods - if it's in the wrong place, please feel free to move it...

So, any of you guys know a little bit about Windows Mobile, or fancy learning about it?

Become a certified Windows Mobile Specialist! All you have to do to earn your Windows Mobile Specialist certification is to complete their online courses on Windows Mobile 6.1 and pass the final test. No fees or trips to Prometric centres required ;-)

I've done it this afternoon - it's a bit of fun, and you get a new certificate to nail to your trophy wall (see mine below)

I would imagine this is them plugging Windows mobile.

I did the online licensing specialist exams a year or two ago and didn't get naff all for it - except a headache...

Still, I'll give it a go.

You are quite correct - it does not form any part of the MCP/MCSE/MCTS/MCITP/etc. Family of certifications.

However it's free and relatively easy to achieve - it's also a bit different and could make an interesting talking point at interview if put on your CV...

Perhaps... but just about anyone can test and test and test a freebie cert until they finally get it... making it relatively worthless.

Still, it can't HURT your chances... and you just mind find an employer who believes it's worth something. :)

    Thanks for the link!!

Did both online courses, the Mobile Specialist and the Mobile Business Specialist and while it's not as high as other MS certs, it will go towards the old CPD* :)

Agree on this but I guess it depends on who is taking the test, if you're honest - like most people on here - you'll take the tests seriously. Some may take and re-take I guess, shame we can't weed out these people.

I took both and actually enjoyed the format, also I now have two new bits of paper to thrill my (admittedly not very knowledgeable) boss with, so big thanks for the link. :biggrin

What do you expect for free? ..

Its just Microsoft marketing to gain leads, to offer other training packages to.

I am doing it when i get some free time.
