I might get it... it's just that for some reason... I don't have the motivation... I know I have to pass CCNA in the next few months... maybe I just need a break... But you're probably right, I would probably regret it if I don't get it when it expires. I still have to do 3 exams but they should not be too bad.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound all preachy there, its just that an MCSE to me says I've been in the game for a while, and also ticks that all important recruiter search box

Come to think of it, I enjoyed my Net+ study due to the nice book from Mike Meyers. The man knows how to make an enjoyable read.

The MSPress book for Exchange 2000 was an entirely different story. The text was dry to the point of making me cry... Almost put me off messaging systems.

My favorite has to be my CCNA, loved studying for this and Jeremy Ciaora (I think that's how you spell it), makes the material really interesting.

Also really enjoyed my HP Storage Solutions Architect Course/Exam, it was amazing, really opened my eyes to subjects I hadn't covered before like RAID virtualization, business benefits off blades v rack servers, flex fabric/flex 10, and then we have the 3PAR, that thing alone blew my mind.

The MS stuff was OK, but I'm really looking forward to my vSphere 4.1 course in a couple months time.

Citrix was alright, but I haven't touched it since I did the exam as most clients have gone with RDS now.

In theory, that is correct. Since one needs a few years of experience before they try these certs, and due to the number of certs involved, it can take a month or more to achieve each, that is a grand statement to show HR.

Unfortunately, with cheaters around, one could pass these certs in a matter of weeks...

Hopefully the cheaters are caught during the interview process...

Smash it prof I've no doubt you have the skills, it would be nice to have you in the club! Shinigami I hope you'll comment here but the trouble with the MCITP is....... yes, its a premier certification, but why the heck did they have to go and make the EDST, CST, EST, SA, EA? It just confuses everyone as to what level people are at and I'd imagine makes it near impossible for a recruiter to distinguish between someone who's a kick ass desktop person or a server architect....... my 2 cents Bill / Steve / Ozzie ???

I can be very naive but haven't exam makers made it near impossible these days.......?

CISSP was fun, as well as the ISEB Ent and Sol Architecture certificates. Although the guys teaching the courses really made them for me, as well as interesting content :)

I found the Security+ to be quite interesting. It seemed to be one of the easiest to study for (probably because I enjoyed it).

MCTS: SCCM for sure. Probably because the product has so many uses and applications, it never gets boring. Seriously considering specialising in it in the next couple of years.

I totally didn't click that you'd passed it matey - how did I not see that?! It's not called vNext anymore either buddy - it's officially SCCM 2012 now :) Beta 2 is already out.

You might be interested in the following technet article as it lists the differences between the two versions (link is here) - no more native / mixed mode crap - yaaaaay.

Ah that explains it because I had a quick search for vnext to give you a link and found 2012! I'm glad they are keeping it as SCCM as I'm not a fan of change for changes sake.

Yeah I passed it while back when I was tempted to try and specialise (after meeting many highly paid contractors!) but I'm gonna swerve that now for VMware and Citrix I think..... but who knows, as new things come out.
