Now the majority of people on this forum strike me as having more than a reasonable level of intelligence, so I was wanting to get an opinion from this cross-section of people.

Does anyone really give a flying toss about this programme?

I watched some of it and to be honest felt nauseous. If there is one thing that it is good for, however, is that if you are feeling down, maybe the studying is not going as well as it could, maybe the job situation is spiraling downwards, you can always console yourself with the fact that you are nothing like the mutated half-wit creatures that feature on that programme and that should give you all the lift you need.

I have seen a few bits of it, my girlfriend insisted we watched the opening night, I didnt realise it was Celebrity Big Brother to be honest, as I barely knew anything of them.

Oh well, at least Shameless is back, cant beat that

I must disagree with you slightly there. X-Factor is actually entertaining for the first 3 weeks when you have all the nut-jobs, fat grannies and those that are very displeasing in an aesthetic manner believing they are the next big thing 'because me mum told me so'

Big brother can feck off so far as I'm concerned Sorry, but we all work our asses off to make some form of living, yet this programme makes millionaires out of people just because they are pig-faced and gobby with the intelligence of a stressed whelk or throw strops at the drop of a hat. Says a lot for the voting public too

You mean, "We Used To Be Celebrities But Haven't Had A Job In Years So We're Shamelessly Throwing Ourselves Out There To Attempt To Revive Our Dying Careers" Big Brother?

Celebrity Big Brother? Love it. We actually have the live feed streamed 24 hours through a projector at work. We find it increases productivity no end. I've actually set up my own version of the BB house in my basement and will be holding auditions for it shortly if anyone's interested. I can't muster up the big money prizes like the real one so I'm offering a pork pie and a packet of cheese & onion to the winner.

Next year I'm entering X-Factor as well. I going to go for the "I'm slighty zany so I'll stand out" approach this year by dressing as Spiderman. I'm going to sing the Spiderman cartoon theme tune ("Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can..."), I'm on to a sure-fire winner I reckon.

Course, if I don't win X-Factor, there's always American Idol. There's less competetion there as the US seems to have a proporionately larger pool of deluded people than the UK.

If all else fails, my quest for five minutes of tabloid exposure will probably lead me to sleep with a footballer or two. I'll get myself in those papers somehow.

i find it shocking that any of this is still on TV, and the fact that people find ANY of it the least bit entertaining goes to show people are more interested in imagining other peoples lives than doing something with there own, might explain the state of this country and why 10% of british subjects live abroad!
thats about the population of london! (its official pop not its real pop)

hehe, I actual watch it and oh my even like it.:biggrin I also watch survivors, gene Simmons show, cowboy U, Amazing Race.

I don't know about the people in the UK, but the contestants in the US have jobs or are in School. Mike that won the last one owns his own business. I believe he owns a couple of bars/restaurant with his best friend who was also on that same show. And he is a physician.

Anyway I like to watch them. They crack me up.
