    Hi All,

This is my 2nd attempt on the CCNA and the 'Troubleshooting' part of the CCNA exam seems to be a problem area for me (scored 55% last time).

The IP configuration simulation is where I seemed to of stumbled. - probably through nerves couldn't see the problem.

Does anyone have any advice on solving problems in simulations for RIP, EIGRP and IP configuration simulations and what to look out for?

what materials have you been using to help you learn?

You could try the Boson Router simulators, as they come with some different labs, alternatively, and I'm not sure if this is true for the CCNA exam but Transcenders tend to be pretty close to the mark when it comes to practice exams.

I'm new at this myself. But I'll just like to ask when you said your ip config on one of the routers was incomplete, are you talking about forgetting to put in the subnet mask or something like that ? Because I always assumed that the simulation would always reject the input if you forgot to put something in or you put in something that doesn't belong. You know like when you do a typo and the CLI skips and a message comes up saying invalid input at marker or incomplete command etc ?

I'll bookmark this thread and after I've passed my CCNA I'll let you know. Although you'll probably be a CCNP by then. 8)

Don't worry about it 'headache'. Have found out the answer to it.

After the stress and hassle of CCNA, I don't think I could handle CCNP ;)

Might want to remove that information on what type of simulations you got, especially the details you gave on one of them... that info breaks your Cisco Confidentiality agreement. They take that stuff seriously.

I'd suggest getting more hands-on experience with Cisco routers. You should be able to do those tasks just by practicing... you don't need labs written out for you. Just follow the instructions in the Cisco Press or Sybex books.

Boson's typically been a good company where Cisco is concerned. I know some people who work there. Fine folks.

Best of luck on your next attempt!

You can only edit your own post for a limited time, not sure how long that is, so I have taken the liberty of doing it for you.
