i've been wondering this for a while but there never seems to be a definitive answer. what is a good lab if you're not planning on stopping at a CCNA ?

i've seen lots of lab set ups which include:-

    1x 2610XM router
    2x 2610 router
    1x 2950 switch
    1x 2924 switch

    3x 2610 router
    2x 2924 switch

    3x 2500 routers
    1x 2924 switch
    2x 1924 switch

    2x 2501 router
    2x 1924 switch

I'd go for the above as it would give you variety as well as a bit of scalability as you're not looking to stop at the CCNA level. If £££'s is not too scarce would even throw in one WS-C3560-48TS-S - Cisco Catalyst 3560-48TS SMI - switch - 48 ports:) over kill.

Ive bought a CCNA lab from irp80 (or whatever hes called on ebay)

If i decide to move on lab wise, then ill see if he does upgrade packs, or sell what i have now, and then buy a new one.

I cant see you losing more that 30quid, so for now the space will be less, and also you will have the tools you need, with no distractions of higher end kit.
