I was called out to remove this from someone's computer a month or so a go - the steps outlined worked just fine.

As soon as I get time I will go round to my brothers house and install spybot adware etc and see what happens.

Hopefully I wont have to do a full format and re-install cos his wife pisses me off and I dont like being round her or hopefully she will be out and not come back whilst I am there.

Or even better I might just take his comp back to mine.

Cheers people I will try all of methods mentioned hopefully one will work.

I just hope i never meet anyone from MBS because they'll get a slap.

This is totally stealing in my opinion and hijacking of someones personal computer.

I dont know how anyone can even attempt to justify the fact that this program is not spyware or even a trojan.

Its both in my opinion and will be removed one way or another from my brothers pc and I will go to court with him if it came to that just so I can give the MBS people a good ******* kicking

Greenbrucelee and others with MBS problems. Sorry for this long gap in helping but I only came across this site a couple of days ago.

There are several ways to rid your computer of that malware. see sites at bottom. several Antivirus also claim complete success. Just google 'MBS Bill' or 'MBS'.

Prevx2.0 Antivirus from http://www.prevx.com definitely does. I know it works. Access that site, then click on 'Download', all free for 1 month. It will automatically place all malware into a 'Jail', even malware that your existing AV has not detected. You can delete those files in 'Jail', then the shortcut icon on your desk top, then the icon in the start up window. Your computer will be clean. Prevx are very fair. After a month, they will still detect viruses etc but you will have to buy the package to delete the malware files. They do not insist you buy theirs but at half the price of most other AV, it's well worth it. I have taken a one year package now that the free month has expired.

MacAllan has already mentioned this site.

I have the names (and addresses) of the 2 directors, Ashley Trevor Bateup and Mark Webb, company secretary and regd address of MBS which were obtained from Companies House. (Also have a possible office add and tel no). Anyone interested?

    Please post here your results.

Finally got round to my brothers to have a go at getting rid this bill from MBS.

His comp now cant access the internet so I cant download any anti-virus software for him, also when I done an ipconfig it does not find an ip address.

also he wnet wireless an threw his ethernet cable away and as his comp is no longer detecting a router and his sky broadband requires the ethernet cable to be connected to the router before you wireless is setup then he is a bit screwed.

I have a 12 metre ethernet cable which I will take around to his.

I have a couple of questions

If I am to put my antivirus onto a cd to take to his do I staright burn it or do I make an iso image and do I do the setup program or the actual program (all my anti-virus is downloaded of the net

Also should ipconfig not be able to detect the address anyway?

Just put the anti-virus setup file/files on the cd, don't worry about making an image. Also make sure you download the update files so that you can update the anti-virus once you install it in your bro's comp since he cant access the internet you wont be able to update the anti-virus unless you have that update file.

Do the same for any anti-spyware programs.

If the computer does not have an ip address, there are a few things you could. Ipconfig release/renew, if it doesn't work disconnect the power from the modem and the router and then reconnect the power. Also make sure that the local area connection is not disabled by chance. Make sure that there is a proper connection from the router to the computer and from the router to the modem.

Chances are if it worked with the setup you got goin now then its probably software related issue, then again it could still be physical connection issue.

If you're handy with the registry, you could try going in there. I can't guide you as to exactly where to look as different apps will hide themselves in different places. Look up micro bill system registry removal and be sure to back up all important data prior to attempting anything listed.

One thing to remember with malware generally is that it all can be removed with a bit of knowhow. These criminals rely on a lack of knowledge to force people to pay, not the fact that your system is 'locked' by them and they require payment to release it. :)

Thanks for all the advice people, that MBS bill has been removed from my brothers computer.

Its funny how little protection some people have on their PCs all my brother had was Mcafee and nothing else.

It was also out of date

In total my brother had 34 infections, took a while to get rid of the, all but they are all rmoved from quarantine

BTW anyone who gets one of those MBS bills spyware doctor works.

Hopefully my brother will give me something the next time I see him.
