Cant access Shares?

    Is that the right title?

    anyway,

    i was as usual faffing around on my computer, and i noticed these account, so i dediced to disabled them (everything except mine).

    then when i went to open my shares on the machine, this happened....

    so i went back into the users and re-enabled the account, included admin expecting it to work again, but still get the error message

    Any ideas, as im blaiming you guys... :rolleyes:

    thats because you removed the permissions on all the files and folders associated with those accounts! I saw this once on a customers PC. :oops: If Cheeks is not an admin account use the admin account and take over ownership of those files. then you have to give permission to cheek to use them

    hang on where is this folder you trying to access? over the network?

    is the share permission for the user (cheek) ok on the share i.e. does he have full control?

    no mods have been made to share permissions.

    did you disable any groups in the management console? can you access the file locally?

    this happens when trying to create a share

    did not disable group, but users i did disable.

    can access files locally...

    right its exactly the same thing that happened to me! :( you disable that Administator account too right?:( :( :(

    Yes i did, but now i have enabled it... although its now showed on the pic...

    ...so what did you do to sort it out?

    let me just brainstorm quickly because i formatted that machine... the thing is is that account Cheek a member of the local admin group?

    it seems i can create a new share, but when i go to network neighbourhood, select microtronic pc, the same error message abour permission is popping up

    anyway guys, im logging off for the time being, to do some revision...

    hmmm try checking the permissions on the *Network User* its a hidden user so you need to go into the ntfs security of the share and click advanced...

    network user? would that be me... on this pc im typing on (FAT32) or would that be me, on the microtronic pc that i am having trouble on?

    im running out of ideas here... the issue is permission based - the administrator has lost his administrative rights! :(

    In computer management, go to shares, is there a share for C$, D$ etc.?
