Interesting article, I used to game quite alot along with playing in bands, now my better half and I have been going out for 10 years and we have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and another one on the way, gaming has fallen by the wayside. Because quite frankly I prefer to spend my free time with my family, gaming was enjoyable while it lasted but now I've something far better to fill my days with!

    That and studying of course!

We dont have kids yet, I'm sure that will change a few habits
but just getting married shouldn't change much, as long as your with the right woman! :)
got mine hooked on games before we got married, her faves are wow and dawn of war, but I have her playing UT3, BF2142 and plenty of others!

Ah Pheonix, whilst a god amongst us techies, you appear to be a little green in the ways of family life. Once you have kids you wont want to waste time doing other things and if you still after that had inclings of socialising or playing games you wont have time too! Also other halves also seem to have lots of stuff that you need to do after little un's have gone to bed.

Or maybe im just under the thumb!:cracking

I'm pretty sure everyones priorities change when they have a little one depending on them, but until that time I think I will stick to the couples gaming :)

Although I did just pick up Mass Effect at the weekend and it has no MP :)

I find i can still play games as long as she is in a good mood if the kids have'nt upset her or if she is in the middle of the house work as long as I help and wait for the all clear its fine but it has to be games that can end quickley forget playing c&c and 18 hole golf games when you get that look and interuption in mid game its time to call it a day.

I encourage her to go out and visit friends then ill get time for C&C but beware thay catch on quickley always be one step ahead.

It can work and does for me, I game after the kids are in bed and the wife's hobby is outdoors (Horse) so she goes out when I get in, kids are in bed and I get to play on the PC while she's out riding.

Yes it can as long as I am winning! :biggrin I want Wii!!!!!!!!!!! Joe and I don't play as much as we used to hardly ever really. He can play all he wants I really don't care. He works hard plus if I am not in the mood I just surf. I rather him play games then watch all those freaking old movies! :blink I hate clint eastwood.
