    Hi all!

Its been a while since my last post and I wonder if anyone here could offer me a little advice.....

I have three certs under my belt: 70-270, 70-290 and the 70-291. I am planning to take the 70-680 within the next couple of weeks. My first question is: Would that make me an MCSA 2003?

Now I am planning my next move too.... which I am hoping will be the 70-648. So my second question is: Must I sit and pass this exam by July 31st before it expires?

After that - I am hoping to take the 70-646. So the third and fourth questions are: Does this exam have a set expiry date yet? And if I pass this will it make me an MCSA 2008?

Are my above assumptions right? Also from your point of view.... Is this the sensible path to take?

Appreciate your time and feedback with this one!

Yes that combination will make you MCSA: 2003.

the 70-648 exam will expire on July 31st as you have mentioned and no there is no expiration date set for the MCSA:2008 exams.
And if you do pass 646 that will get you MCSA:2008, don't remember what the specific dates are but if you complete those 3 exams you listed soon enough you will be MCITP:SA and MCSA:2008. However, after the date (which is alluding me) you will just be MCSA:2008.

    Hope I was clear enough.

Anytime, trying to complete this exam as well before review time with the boss.

Decided to do the full route for MCSA:2008, dipped my toe in and liked what I saw so far so hoping to gain as much knowledge doing that while we upgrade our infrastructure to 2008 domain. Should be a fun year.

I have a question around this also, i just passed the 70-648, so i now just need to do the 70-646, is that exam expiring also?

Or is it only the 70-648 that's expiring?

Also Jezza yes the path your taking is probably the best option, but that means you have to do at least 2 exams in 3 months, and if the 70-646 exam is in fact expiring also, you will have to do 3 exams in 3 months.

Also you do have another path you may want to consider.....

Don't worry about the 70-680 (2003 Certs are already pretty old these days) instead you could do the 70-640 and 70-642 instead of the 70-648, ether path you'd have to also do the 70-646, but in the end run both paths are 3 exams ending with a MCITP:SA/MCSA:2008 ), of course if you have already put in study and effort on the 70-680 it would be better to stick with that path anyway.
