I ran across this youtube video on another tech site. It's a broadband commercial from Japan, and it's flat out funny.

    Freddy,

Just to let you know that the language spoken in the advertisement wasn't Japanese. It sounded more Chinese to me.

Advert from Hong Kong (kinda separate from China in terms of political stuffs), to be precise. Many countries in South-East Asia have this technology for home use (more powerful ones for businesses), i.e. Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc. From what I know at present China hasn't got that yet, imagine how much they have invest to cover even just one place with this home-use 1GB Up & down fibre net technology? No demand no supply. Besides, not everyone can have a PC in there......just net cafes all over the place.

On this half of the world it might seem forever or never to get this technology for home use. I laugh my a$$ out when people are praising their 24MB max broadband here or when people are trying to sell technology, with crap upload speeds..

When I was in Hong Kong I had lots of home servers everywhere, both running at fast Internet up/down speeds (all Internet providers, even ADSL ones keep their up/down the same).....here I can only to cry...... and it's always quicker to post DVDs/enternal HDDs :-)

Oh, we have in London/this side of the world:

"The Tube" - non-air conditioned, full of germs and smells
    "Buses" - same as above
    An expensive, yet "falling" economy/market
    Early-closing shops everywhere

You get an all-reverse of the above on the other side of the World.

I found that on dslreports.com front page and they said it was Japanese. I just repeated what they said it was. I couldn't tell the spoken Japanese language from the Chinese language if my life depended on it. I don't understand a word of either.

Haha, that is a hilarious ad. Fibre to the home would be sweet. I am pretty happy with cable though.

    Freddy,

Since I understand Japanese and not Chinese, I don't know what they were saying either so you're not alone. :)
