I've set up two VM's both connecting to my network using a bridged connection.

They can only connect to the internet if I turn the host machines firewall off (bitdefender 11) can anyone help me with setting up the firewall so I can leave it on??

Although I have never used bitdefender is there not a way to see what is being allowed and denied by it?

If there is then you should be able to allow the access from within the firewall program.

Like GBL said, there's probably a way to allow outgoing traffic from the IPs of the VMs in your firewall. Also be aware that VMware (assuming that's what you're using) sets up virtual IPs on your host machine. If your host is Windows, run ipconfig/all to see those IPs. I'd be willing to bet that's what's hanging you up.

It doesn't have its own connect it connects through my normal net connect.

I've tried allows the Vm's IP but still nothing

if its a host based firewall it may well work on an application basis
check VMWare is allowed access through it

Yeah vmware is allowed but it still won't connect.
