Booting Problem !!!

Dear All,

Please can you advise on the following symptoms - many thanks Co9 :

1. Power on to find black screen with grey bar reading : F2 Set up - F12 Boot

2. Loading grey bar loads half way and freezes

Usually nothing more will happen but occasionally after an hour or so screen goes through to normal user window. PC can then be used but freezes every 2 minutes - My daughter thinks possibly a virus?

Any ideas will be gratefully received - presumably I need to make adjustments in BIOS set up to boot normally
but could really do with some step by step guidance if at all possible

please try to boot in safe mode. is your pc working very slow? then keep your pc in safe mode and remove antivirus you are using ( uninstall-go to control panel - add/remove program..) some times antivirus may cause this problem and reinstall some afficient antivirus. it 'll work i think.
