Boot problems

This might be something simple, but its got me beat

Ive installed a new HDD on my main pc, so ive got 4 SATA's instead of 3. The new drive is a raptor, so i decided to do a clean install on there, because its a faster drive so it should increase performance slightly with the OS on.

I then rebooted with all drives connected and got a GRUB error, but i havent got linux! So i checked boot order in BIOS etc, and it was all fine. I disconnected them again and booted up with the one drive and it works.

I then connected all the drives and they were ok. I then moved data, deleted partitions and resized them (just general housekeeping). Rebooted pc. And got the GRUB error again. So i tried each drive one at a time with my raptor drive, and i get a different error with each. i get a disk boot failure with one, the GRUB error with another, and error loading OS with the last. Anyone got any ideas??

Can you post the *exact* error you are experiencing?

Have you used a Linux based tool to retrieve any data from the drives?

I havent lost any data mate, everything was working fine before i installed the new drive. The error i get depends on what HDD is connected with my boot drive. I get 3 errors

1 Error loading OS
2 GRUB error 22
3 Disk BOOT failure

Im totally baffled, coz the BOOT order is correct, and the other drives arent active or anything, so i dont know why its not just booting from my main drive.

Also, i have no problems booting to my OS if i just have the raptor connected

 

All sorted, just happened to be a post by Mitzs on TU, about something similar, it worked a treat. Basically i used the Bootcfg /rebuild command in recovery console. Heres the link to Mitzs post
