This is already out (A+ Fast Pass from Sybex) and covers the new objectives. Link

The new version (coming in October 2006) also from Sybex.

Can't quite decode the previous, but I believe the new edition will be out in the first week of December.

Just some advice on book purchase. Read the guide to self learn was going to buy A+ Certification All-in-one Exam Guide by Mike Meyers. However not released till January 2007. However a lot of 2003 editiond can be gotton fairly cheaply. Is it worth waiting or just get one of the older versions. On a very tight budget

Hello Varion and welcome to CF, I understand about the tight budget while studying. However, usually when they put out new exams, there are new technology and other stuff on it too that the old books wouldn't have in them. Buying used books is one thing, but I would not really advise to buy a old version of a book for a newer test.

I agree with Mitz! but on the other hand if you feel you can do the A+ by March (i think thats the deadline) then go ahead and buy the 2003 book! IMO i think wait and buy the new book and do the new exams...

I agree - I've got the 2003 Mike Mayers book which I'm reading up on until my 2006 book arrives.

The new exams have new objectives, structure etc - the old books will cross over a lot of stuff but don't buy one to study for the new exams, if you're going to buy a book buy a 2006 one it will be more than worth it in the long run.

I ordered the Sybex fast pass book a couple of days ago and will report back when I get it - should be any day now.

I might type up my study notes and publish them on my web site as well in blog form. I'll definitely write a review of the book as well.

OK the Sybex A+ complete fastpass has arrived

All the stuff is there for all 4 exams - it's a bit monotone though. I'll have a read this weekend and report back.

Just so people know, the new Mike Meyers A+ book is out. I picked it up in the local PC World (as it was the only place with stock). It's the 6th edition and printed in 2007. RRP is £34.99

does nayone know if there is an updated version of the mike meyers A+ passport out yet? I have the old one and I'm fairly impressed, but won't be sitting the exam until december so need the new spec. Any alternatives anyone would reccomend? his main A+ bible is a bit on the hefty side for me..........
