    Guys,

Booked my A+ Essentials exam today, for early May, I've already gone thru alot of the objectives using the Sybex book I got a couple of months back.

I've just read in the front of the book, that you have to pass the second A+ exam within 90 days of the first exam, im guessing this must be correct as its there in black and white?

3 months should be ok to complete the 220 602, but if I were to fail it, I have to then go back and resit 220 601?

Not that any of this should be a problem, I was just taken back abit by it as I was completely unaware!

I know that waaaay back in the old days, you used to have to pass the two exams within a certain number of days from one another... but that requirement was dropped long ago, and I can't find it on CompTIA's Web site. I'd guess that's old info. What version of the book are you using? What's the copyright date?

I have the standard version of that book and cannot find the 90 days mentioned anywhere in it. What page number is it on in your book?

Weird. Maybe they're putting that restriction back, but I surely can't find it on CompTIA's A+ pages.

I've also had a look at the comptia site, in the FAQ is states there is no time frame in which you need to take the second exam, Im guessing the book may be incorrect.

may the force of cf be with us! even if you have to take the exam in 90 days 3 months is more then enough of time to take the exam and having a deadline is good because it keeps you on your toes so its beneficial in a good way

I did find it - exactly where you said. Interesting, I'm going to mail Sybex and Comptia to see what they say. Judging from Comptia's info though, I'd say its just Sybex not fully updating that section.
