I currently have a book for the old exams 601/602. Theses should still contain most of the stuff for 701 and 702 right? And i also have the pearson comptia a + guide 701/702. Anyone reccomend any other really good books aimed at the 701/702 exams? Cheers:)

You can take the 601/602 up until August 31st this year in the UK.

AS far as I can tell the main differences are a little bit of Vista thrown in (probably losing all reference to pre-2000 and maybe even 2000 itself except upgrade paths) and more breadth/emphasis on SOHO networking.
Throw in a little bit of Blu-Ray, SSDs and any other popular technology and you'll be about there I reckon.

Try CompTia A+ Complete Study Guide.

I have just purchased it and started to go through it as a self-study guide.

Those books will do you fine. You can still take the 600 series exams up until August 31st and employers don't care which version you have so having 600 series books will do you fine if you decide to do those exams
