The ACM is the Association for Computer Machinery. They publish a lot of research papers etc.

Its not just about being a licensed profession, I don't want that. Its about having an accreditation that means something in the real world and has tangible benefits.

    Hi all,

I am considering to pursue Professional Graduate Diploma in IT, British Computer Society (BCS). I choose BCS because of the following reasons:
    1. They allow me to self-study so the total fees will be very cheap.
    2. Its Diploma in IT is recognized as the equivalent of a British Bachelors degree so I can eligible for master of software engineering after getting BCS Diploma.

However, I am still wonder about the values of its Diploma. Is it widely recognized? If no, Could you advise me the other alternative for BCS?

    Thank you very much.
    haf.
