Bash vs. DOS (cmd prompt) commands

    I found this comparison in the Advanced Bash Scripting Guide. It's a comparison between similar commands found at a DOS or cmd prompt and at a bash prompt. It also gives an example that shows how much easier bash scripting is than writing .bat files. To me there's no comparison at all in the two in ease of writing or understanding.

    It's true there are a lot of switches to learn in bash scripting, but the overall script is much more clearly written and easily understood.
