    hi all

hope this is the correct place for this - if not please move

anyway im investigating some backup solutions for some clients and i have some questions

can anyone recommend any decent remote backup server / client software ie server end on my server and client software to be installed on clients pc. would prefer if backups could be done over the web

and just as a matter of interest, is it possible to image machines, store the image on a server and should the clients machine go down then the image can be deployed? i understand this is no problem on a LAN but what about over the web?

    all info appreciated

    thanx

Do these clients not have a local server on which to store data?

We use Bunkerbackup on customers servers that want an off-site solution to there back up as well as on-site nightly back-ups

It can get expensive if you want to back-up a lot of data.

Nice. Don't forget encryption, unless they don't mind their data running naked.

Personally I wouldn't touch the BT online backup product. This has been bought in and I have had direct experience of customers having major problems with it. All 2nd and 3rd line support is contracted out and basically when you have a problem you never hear from them again.

    Have always used this :

    http://www.backupdirect.net/

Found it to be very good for desktops and servers. Helpdesk excellent too.

There's a free trial so you can always try it to evaluate.
