I'm very soon going to be looking into a backup solution that I can implement that will take care of all my backup needs in one.

I want to be able to backup several servers and have it wrapped into one easily managed device, so I'm after some advice on what others use to help me make my decision. I've been looking at a few disk based backup systems but as I don't have any experience of them I wanted to get the opinions from others before I look any further.

    Thanks in advance. :)

Do you have a rough price range and also how much data is involved. Is there a DC and Exchange server in there as well?

    Questions, questions! :biggrin

Some additional questions to frame a response:

    1. Size of backups across servers?
    2. Number of servers?? - [vs licencing choices]
    3. Time envelope for backups?
    4. Stated backup policies?
    5. SQL?
    6. Exchange?
    7. AD/DC ?
    8. Specialised apps? - some apps are fussy regarding what they interporate with....ie record management software etc.

Sorry I got totally distraced with other jobs and had to leave this for a moment.

There are 5 servers in the Domain in total with Exchange, SQL and the rest data and apps. No specialised apps really as they all have their own backup routines that will backup to file.

Backups will probably total around 200-300GB but this would increase at around 20% a year at current growth.

The solution only need to cover the next 3 years and I have around a budget of around £2000 - £2500.
