    Hi All

Are your 2013 certification goals on track? Mine sadly were not but I've recently put myself under pressure to get back on track, it is important for my career after all. I have two exams booked in September to hopefully gain my MCSA 2012.

    How about you?

    James

Mine are currently still on track... Already got my MCSA 2012, on track to finish the T848 in 1 1/2 months time and got my Tang Soo Do grading for 1st Dan around Christmas :)

However being on track doesn't mean that I'll pass it, just hope that the amount of work that I'm/I'll put in is enough :)

Passed the ROUTE, working hard toward SWITCH now. Hope to have CCNP done by end October, just in time for my FIREWALL course at Commsupport :)

I am doing pretty well so far... passed 4 exams (Exchange/Citrix) I got three more to go before the end of the year. Those are:

    1. Citrix XenServer 6 administration (September 9)

    2. EMCISA V2 (October 1st)

3, Citrix XenDesktop (TBD) I am thinking probably end of November early December depending on how long it takes me to go through the objectives.

Reason I am doing all the Citrix certs is for the CCEE on Virtualization cert which I am hoping to do next year... After that it will mainly be VMware/EMC certs... My self and a couple of buddies at work are working on the EMCCA (EMC Cloud Architect) cert so that should be fun.

I didn't set any goals due to the previous year not doing any. This year I have passed VCP5-DCV and CCNA and looking at the Citrix route next!

Didn't make any cert plans, passed one cert this year so ahead of expectations.

Going forward certs don't play much of a role in my career.

Do you find you just like challenging yourself Dave? In the server support game mine do carry weight but more than that I think I enjoy putting myself under a bit of pressure. That's not to say I don't get pressure in my job but its different. I wonder if certification is a self dementia test for me ha ha as long as I can retain enough info to pass the exams its not time to sign over my houses to the kids ha ha

Certs all over the place right now but getting plenty of challenging projects at work – also getting pushed more into Cisco related work which is a bonus.

Will have think over the next couple of weeks and try to get one exam done this year at least! :)

Clearly we are all busy bees ;)

Certs still on track despite all my side projects this year. Got my 70-412 booked in October, then trusting I pass that, looking to do back-to-back study months in November and December to get the MCSE 2012 in Server Infrastructure by the end of the year. That's the lower limit my work set me; realistically they gave me 18 months so theoretically I have until June next year to complete it; going to smash that, and then perhaps see if I can move on to some virtualisation certs.

Good stuff Arro, I will need to upgrade my MCITP to the MCSE at some point as well... luckily I can skip 410, 411, 412 and just do 417, 413, 414 for the MCSA + MCSE...

I Hit a big one (well for me) gaining the MCSA 2008 this year. I did AD in December last year, Server in April and then Net Inf last month. Last exam objective for this year is the 2012 upgrade exam by Christmas.

Getting pretty close to hitting my goals this year, I've got one more exam tip I get a CCEE, after that I might try to slip in either the CCIA or VCP-DT. Problem for me is I'm too busy to take exams during the week these days but luckily a great little test centre has opened up near me that is open on a saturday too.
