    Hi Everyone,

Like the title asks: "Are you running a Windows 2008 r2 domain/forest now?"

Since r2 for 2k8 has been released now for about a week, just wanted to know if anyone else has jumped on the "bandwagon" :)

Even though I've started this poll, I'm not going to answer it until next week as we are currently in the process and will be finished by then :biggrin

Moving one network to Server 2008 very soon although other customers have gone for new hardware only and stuck with Server 2003.

After the first 2008 migration is done I`ll use it as a case study and start pushing it more. 8)

If I can get 2K8 R2 to install without errors tomorrow we might be ... :)

It comes up with an error early on in the installation (clean install onto a Dell Poweredge 2950). Not sure where the original Dell assisted install disk is, will see if I can grab a new 2K8 R2 compatible version from their website tomorrow. :)

Found the Dell Management disk, and it was all looking rosy, but it failed at a later stage this time. Gonna put Server 2008 on, then upgrade to R2.

edit: Looks like it's a BIOS issue, one of the items in the newest BIOS is support for 2008 R2.

I've answered YES to the poll now as we are now running our Forest & Domain functional levels at 2008 R2. I hope we don't live to regret it. :)

For any that are interested, it was the BIOS not suppporting 2008 R2 that was causing problems with the install. As soon as it was updated to the latest version it was fine and dandy.

We have not yet started running Win2K8 R2 but we are still on Win2K8. Will be upgrading soon though at the office. On the other hand, for other organizations they are having a hard time believing that Win2K8 is NOT an entirely new technology. Although, some organizations are planning, while quite a few have upgraded from Win2K3 to Win2K8 to say the least.

We have domain controllers in over 50 countries... It'll take some time for me to able to convince my peers that we need to upgrade them all...

no as most of out clients fall under SBS/EBS 2008 and we wont because you cannot run Exchange 2007 on it as MS are gearing up Exchange 2010 for 2008 R2
