Anyone enjoy Borderlands?

Just wondering whether we have any Borderlands fans here. I've played the first and second but never really got far into them. The first game had such a terrible HUD the location of objectives were really annoying to find which made me not want to play it. I got into the second one but my game glitched and I couldn't progress further! now they have the HD handsome jack collection releasing later this month (I believe the 27th) which includes Borderlands the pre-sequel and Borderlands 2 (not sure why they didnt add Borderlands 1 into the collection, though I heard its something to do with it being built on a different engine) I already have my pre-order on it!

I played Borderland 1 for all of about an hour, I didn't get on with the graphics and game play.

I am really only a two game person, World of Warcrack and BF4 (and hopefully BFC&R shortly).

 

BL1 wasn't bad, but I put in about 200 hours into it.

It was BL2 that really pulled me in. Racked up around 1300 hours thus far according to Steam. And now I'm playing BL:TPS with another 500 hours in.

Pretty much have all the Legendaries in both. I guess you could call me a fan

p.s. the BL1 engine is a previous generation Unreal engine compared to BL2. I think Gearbox just didn't bother upgrading BL1 as it essentially is getting on a bit by now.

 

you want to talk hours played... man I hate to think of the time I put in to World of Warcrack.

I mean one of my characters has over 90 days of play time - thats over 2000 hours, I have another couple of characters that are upwards of 40 - 50 days played as well.

 

Yeah, I know of some WoW fans that have literally played on a regular basis since the game came out like... what, ten years ago? I dunno, I never picked it up so, don't know much (but my fiancée played it for a period of 3 years on a regular basis, she would know more than me).

I picked up BL2 pretty late into the deal tho'... I just kinda got bored, wondered what was there, got BL1, more or less enjoyed it, then thought of BL2, and got hooked. Of course, I do love the following saying:

"Need a job so that I can buy video games. Have a job so I don't have any time to play video games" ;)

But I played BL2 intensely from the summer/autumn of 2013 onwards (it got released in September 2012, so others had a clear advantage compared to me).

However, I don't think I've quite finished with the game yet. I'm well ahead of things in BL:TPS for now, having found nearly all Legendary's (just a few shields left to go, the grinder helps a lot) and the final DLC (in ClapTraps twisted mind) is still to be released. Finished it on Normal and TVHM with all characters, and on UVHM with 3 out of 6.

However, BL2 has the Overpower Level on Digistruct Peak, which is not that easy, and so I've only got one character at OP8 (after having finished UVHM at level 72 with them), and another two characters at OP7 (also having finished UVHM with them). Three remaining characters are at level 60 and haven't done UVHM with them yet, so I might try to get everyone to OP8 this year (just started Salvador coincidentally, supposed to be the easiest one at that to boot), and one day I'll go back to BL1 and try to finish it with the others (only done a full play through with 1 character, and almost finished it with another while playing co-op with my fiancée).

It's basically gonna be the game trio I'll be concentrating on this year I guess *shrug*

 

I have been playing since vanilla WoW, had two subs going all that time, I have never gotten bored with it although the previous expansion wasn't my cup of tea (damn panda's) however I am LOVING the current expansion.

Same, between being a dad, working and studying I can barely fit it all in. I could only squeeze 30mins of xbox in today lol.

 

I do a lot of my gaming when my wife and kids are in bed, at weekends I am usually up playing with my mates until 2 - 3 in the morning (Friday and Saturday only).

 

I just purchased Borderlands 2 "Game of the Year Edition" as there is a huge sale on 2K games on Steam right now. 80% off for the game and all DLC. Only thing now is waiting for the 9GB download.

 

Nice! Its a good game though you really gotta pump hours into it, I cancelled my preoder for the new one as I dont have time right now I still have games I got for xmas untouched!

 

I just purchased Battlefield Hardline Premium edition, going to have a play with that shortly.

 

Well having played all the BF games it was a foregone, I had played the first beta and really enjoyed it.

£100 for a game that allows me to get the new maps for free over the next couple of years also made sense and was something I did with BF4 as well. Of course you can just stick with the standard game and can get it cheaper on g2a if needed.
