    Just joined this:

    http://www.linkedin.com/home

Got my first invite this morning from someone I used to work with and sent out two other invitations. I'm actually interested in LinkedIn relative to another project I'm currently working on (which I can't talk about just yet), but it's kind of fun seeing who's out there.

It is indeed fun to see what ex-colleagues are up to.

That said, it seems to be another method of getting your name about; I've had a number of calls from agencies asking if I am interested in gaining employment or contracting work elsewhere.

It shouldn't do you any harm being on there.

Wow! This rocks. I've been wandering around the "group" section of LinkedIn and it's like seeing a completely different side of the CF folks who are there. No only that, but in a very short space of time, I've reconnected with people I haven't worked with in years. Too bad I didn't know about this when I was looking for a job. I can see how this would be a terrific advantage in networking on a variety of levels.

    I love new toys. :biggrin

I'm in a few groups over there now (just handed ownership to one to one of the other EG admins as I am too busy) and it has proven to be seriously handy for getting contacts in particular areas. I have had a number of suggestions given to me of people to get in contact with as well. Don't forget that aspect of it.
