Hi there. Hope you are all well today.

I found your forum yesterday so registered this fair morning.

Quick introduction to myself; I am going to be made redundant tomorrow (I've know its been coming for while). I am now looking at returning to an IT career after nearly 8 years away, albeit from the technical role I currently hold.

I have no formal qualifications or accreditations but have had a good 3 or 4 years configuring and installing windows desktops and servers.

Any advice you guys might have would be great. I am looking at taking the MCDST tests, plus also A+. Long term goals would be to become an MCSE and combine my management experience I now have, but thats gonna be a few years down the line I know.

    See you around :)

Sounds like you're on the right track. It won't be easy to get back into IT considering the job market, but your past experience will put you a step ahead of much of your competition who do not have any experience, provided you're OK with the salary.

    Welcome to the forums. :)
