    Hi Welcome

don't go for MCSA untill you have the required on the job experience.

As for the other certs you will need compTIA A+ all in one exam guide by Mike Meyers 6th/7th edition and PC Technician street smarts by James Pyles.

For the N+ Network+ by Mike Meyers and Network + by David Groth

For the MCDST the MS Press books will be fine :D

Welcome, yep definetely think thats the right route. Lots of resources, ranging from books to helpful websites, sorry don't have a list of any atm. Self studying is good if your willing to commit, move at your own pace and get your own understanding of the material, good luck!

Howdy and welcome to CF! To add on to what GBL has suggested for study material I suggest looking up Mr. Ford's Class podcasts on iTunes if you regularly commute or workout with an mp3 player. This covers the same material as the Mike Meyers AIO book accept in audio format, it does not however cover the network objectives. Good luck!
