    Hi all,

Just been made redundant after nearly 15 years! Anyway i am trying to make the most of the time i have by looking for work and initially cramming for exam 70-271 (towards MCDST). I am basically looking for advice on the best route to train towards A network engineers role. I have done some basic C&G Diploma's several years ago (PC support and Networking followed by software development)and a couple of Microsoft courses :2272c, 2261b and 2262b but my work commitments and role didn't give me the opportunity to take these skills further:rolleyes: What next after MCDST? CCNA? MCSE? or am i wasting my time because employers are looking for experience not just qaulifications?

    Welcome!

Until you get some real-world experience, you should pursue entry-level certifications, such as the A+, Network+, and MCDST. The CCNA and MCSE won't do you much good until you get the real-world experience to back up the certification.
