Afternoon everyone,

Just saying hi..... I'll be looking for a lot of advice on these forums in the coming months.

I'm looking to branch out into the I.T industry as it's been a hobby of mine since I was a kiddy back in the Spectrum 48k days ;)

I've been in Sales & Marketing, Aircraft Flight Ops and related over the last 12 years, some of which involved a bit of I.T, but never actually involved in the "official" I.T industry I feel I was always destined for.

I'm clued up on the basics (& a bit more) and build PCs for people I know etc, plus I've always been into everything I.T related, I just need to polish up on my networking skills. So, reading other posts on the forum, I think it might be an idea to get the entry-level qualifications under my belt (with the guidance of my best mate who's MCP/MCSE'd up to the eyeballs and in a Management level position within the I.T industry) but I see it may not be a good idea to get over-qualified on paper without having experience to back it up, correct?

Any guidance would be massively appreciated, once I get my foot in the door, I'll be in the industry for life, I'm confident of that!
