Was talking to Quarky the other day about the old commodore amigas. Decided to hunt my emulator stuff out, and ive been playing chaos engine, had great fun with it, brought back memories lol.:) Anyone else here use emulators to play old games, and if so, then what do ya play?

Hey! The Chaos engine is an outstanding game! It was recently ported to the mobile phone by one of our rivals, Glu Mobile.

Have you guys been checking out Abandonware? For those not familiar, 'Abandonware' are games that publishers have relinquished distribution rights over. Fully legal and above board, it's a goldmine for oldskool gaming.

What I want to find is a decent emulation of Back to School or school daze.

I mean I had an amiga emulator on one monitor and an amiga in one monitor, why is it that the origional versions look better, if only slightly

lol - mate, I knew our conversation would lead to a nostalgia outbreak ! I remember all of my old systems and games - Amiga was a classic machine.

In fact, thinking about it, my amiga gave me my first 'fix' experience.

I fixed my faulty floppy drive with a lump of blue tack and a penny !! lol, well i was only about 10. (it worked as well !!)

Having to fight against the emulation 'dig up' at the moment - i've got the 270 exam in the morning and i'm pooing my pants and trying to revise. If i can pass it then i'll dig out my old commodore 64 i think and have a game of Racing Destruction Set, i've still got a load of 5 1/4" floppies and the 1571 drive.

    last thing...

How many people broke a 'quickshot 2' with excessive ' waggling' ?? as well, i used to wear down the new fangled 'micro switches' in no time and the buttons wouldnt work. lol.

    :D

I saw this thread yesterday and checked my emulator folder, have over 2 gig of emulator games and the emulators themselves (my Abadonware alone is over a gig!), including SNES. Genesis, NES, MAME, Gameboy and my favourite of all, the Spectrum

I sold a Spectrum 128K with over 300 games on eBay about a year ago, still have my SNES and NES to sell, just haven't got round to it yet

IMHO, some of the old school games just can't be beaten, what they lacked in graphics, they more than made up with gameplay. I used to spend hours on the likes of Skooldaze, Everyone's A Wally, Spellbound, things like that. Never was allowed an Amiga

    Ahhh, memories......
