To asnwer the question about the MCT annual fee, well, without the MCT certificate, why would anyone hire a 14 year old? I have taught 3 powerpoint classes and received decent review. I would like to teach more, but high school can be demanding. I have even less free time after signing up for Marching band. But I think marching is so much more fun than surfing.

I am concerned about the MCT annual fee, so I took CTT+ and just passed the video evaluation. CTT+ requires no annual fee.

This is the link to my sample teaching video. Don't judge my teaching as a 14 year old, judge me based on the material I prepared (all original) and with limited resoureces and a $100 digitial camera.

    Fair play - not bad!

I'm not sure how I'd feel if I signed up for a professional course and found out it was being taught by a 14 year old - but I'm sure you win them all over in the end. :biggrin

I don't know how things work in the US, but in the UK there are quite a few restrictions on employing people under 16 - so many that it puts most employers off no matter what certificates you have.

But if you've found something that works for you, then best of luck. :thumbleft

It's refreshing to see mature 14 year old, kudos to you. It'll also help towards your college application (extra-curricular activities).

While I agree with JonnyMX regarding professional (IT) courses, the MOS/MOUS exams fall under Microsoft Business class of certs and not technical. Professional Certification/being professionally certified means and shows that a person is competent to complete a job or task. From the MOS/MOUS point of view that's ok, it's not a job role that the students are getting certified in. However if you're going to branch out into the technical certs, then I would strongly say get some IT experience behind you (as well as your students), as the technical certifications are job roles and not just a user skill.

Apart from that, keep up the good work :)

Thanks for all the good comments. Just wanted to share the fact that I did get my MCP in 1/2010. And then I taught my 11 year brother on that, and he passed it,too. I picked Vista because I also tried to study Vista for MCAS - Vista but bought the wrong book. So, I decided to take that as well. You can see my brother's youtube video. (after we took the training class for CTT+ together, he did the material in a rush, so I think your the eyes of you guys- true IT professional, you will find probably lots of rooms for improvement. I do appreciate constructive comments).

Actually in 1/2010, after I passed all requirements posted in Microsoft as an instructor, I got it confirmed and printed on my transcripts, I asked to be listed on the "instructor directory". Believe it or not, they said the program has been cancelled (although it was on mine and all other MCAS's certification road map), and took it off from my transcript. I wonder if that has anything to do with my age.

Yes, they merged the MOS/MCAS instructor program with the MCT program.

    which program?

I passed MCTS- on vista, if that was your question.

Microsoft listed requirement for Microsoft certified application instructor as one who passes "excel, word, access, outlook, powerpoint and vista" and I passed all and got that title on my certificate, but then they removed it after i asked to be put on the instructor directory.
