age limit for working in IT

    im 40 years old at the moment, i would like to work in the IT industry preferably doing database administration, am i to old ?

    No you're not, however don't expect to just walk into DB administration if you haven't done it before.
    Small steps lead to giant leaps.

    I know guys older than you who went on to become dba's.

    IT is almost all mental work so if you've got the aptitude for it, you're good to go. The hardest part is getting your foot in the door but that's the same if you are 16 or 66. Good luck, Jim

    thanks everyone for your replys, thats just what i wanted to hear thats really motivated me to study now. ill get my A+ first then take if from there.

    You can work in IT pretty much between the time when you stop wetting yourself and the time when you start doing it again...

    Dude, you're not too old! As long as you keep up with what's new and make sure you are experienced in modern technology, you'll be fine!
