Environment - Citrix XenServer with 2 private LANs, Windows 2008 level ADS, 2 subnets set up as sites, one ADS/DFS server in each, replication works between sites, one win2008 server with LAN routing set up connects the subnets.

DFS issue ... can not access shares in namespace if local ADS/DFS server nic disabled... even though workstation can access ADS/DFS server in the other site, authenticate, etc. I figured there may be either a blip where a workstation couldn't access the files for a while, then finds the files on the other dfs server eventually, or perhaps after a reboot, but even rebooting and logging in to the other subnet's ADS server doesn't work (as far as getting to the namespace shares. The workstation needs to have its local ADS/DFS server up in order to access the namespace shares.

On my win router, I'm not deliberately blocking anything except for UDP 67/68.

I'm poking around in there now... hopefully I'll find something interesting. If I do, I'll post what I learn, but in the meantime, any tips are appreciated!

Nothing to see here fellas, lol...

I just neglected to put entries for both DNS servers in my DHCP. :o

It works fine now when I disable the nic on one of the DFS servers.
